HI, I’M JOAN.

I decided to launch my store after a major turn in my life.

After an illustrious 20 year career as a freelance art director in advertising,

the work ran dry.

Since I can’t keep my mind idle ever (not even for a second), I decided to take advantage of the extra time and give free reign to my creative juices!

So here I am, doing what I couldn’t do when I worked for the corporate world. I’m creating designs for an alternative world. It’s like a cleansing of all the garbage that staid stuck in the filter.

I’m practicing the same craft but in a purely creative way: no clients,

only my most outlandish, wildest visions to guide me.

I always have

paper and a pencil or pen

with me. There seems to be

a never ending flow of words

that keep pouring out as if popular culture had left me

shell shocked.

I always start with a sketch.

After being developped

in Illustrator, the image is sent

to my printer in Pennsylvania.

My friends there take the orders

and ship to you at the fastest

turnaround time you can get!

FORTUNE COOKIES

I also publish Fortune Cookies. I’d compare

them to comics strips we used to get in bubble

gum packs. They exist for the soul purpose

of tickling your brain.

I never

show my face.

I don’t want it

to detract from

my content.

What kind of state are you in

after seing them?

I was born and raised

in Montréal in a clean 60’s

suburban home. I was the black

sheep of the family.

My dad was closet gay, my mom

was bipolar and they were both

narcissistic alcoholics,

nothing special.

I don’t belong

to any

satanic cult.

HUMOUR

has always been an important way for me to deal with life’s

problems. As you can see from my artwork, I have a very

cynical and dark sense of humour.

I get censored all the time. Everybody thinks I’m a whack

job, train wreck, witch...

But despite all the profanity you see on my site, understand

that I am as fragile and delicate as a flower.
